Valdene Reddy
POSTED ON: May 8, 2025 INValdene Reddy is director of capital markets at the Johannesburg Stock Exchange, where she is responsible for capital raising across primary markets and secondary market trading. Her portfolio includes the sourcing of new listings across equity, debt and structured products, as well as the development and oversight of trading in cash and derivative markets including equities, bonds, interest rates, commodities and currencies.
She has played a key role in developing new markets in South Africa, including the launch of JSE Private Placements and the JSE Ventures Voluntary Carbon Market. She also oversees the issuer services business, which includes locally listed companies and JIS, the JSE’s share registry subsidiary.
Valdene’s career spans more than two decades across several financial institutions. Before joining the JSE, she worked at two international investment banks in equity and equity derivatives sales and trading, servicing both local and foreign institutional clients.
She holds a Bachelor of Business Science in actuarial science from the University of Cape Town, is a certified director with the Institute of Directors South Africa and recently completed the Advanced Management Programme at Harvard Business School.
